What can I say, 2018 was quite the year! I learned so many lessons about myself and life that I am beyond grateful for.
I’m going to be honest, the beginning of the year was a tough one. I was only a few months into grieving the loss of my dad. Through this grieving journey I learned how to be mentally, physically and emotionally strong. Most importantly I now know what truly matters in life, the everyday simplicities. For me, my family and friends are what brings me true joy … and of course Al (my cat)!
I planned a wedding for 200+ guests. With this brought a new level of life lessons such as, organization, patience and compromise. I learned how to go with the flow. Those little hiccups you experience along the way and on the day of your wedding are not worth ruining one of the best days of your life over.
I went on a nine day cross country road trip with my best friend. I realized the world has SO MUCH to offer. Do not and I repeat, do not spend your life in a bubble. Get out in the world and explore! This trip opened my eyes to possibility, gave me perspective and allowed for me to reflect on my life. For instance, it is so easy to allow ourselves to become consumed by unnecessary stressors that do not matter. There is so much we take for granted, so try your absolute best to appreciate the small things in life.
Take advantage of life
I am so proud of the life lessons I learned in 2018. Life is without a doubt a rollercoaster. Take advantage of the opportunities in front of you. I decided to kick off this blog going into the new year. Step out of your comfort zone in 2019!
